The trade unions have, however, organised a petition calling on the ministry to give up the merger plan. The petition, signed by 6600 people, was handed to the Chamber of Deputies in November. The trade unions meet for silent demonstrations outside the UHKT daily, sending photos from these assemblies to parliamentarians. The unionists want the ministry to provide them with an analysis of the possible impacts of the merger.
