Necas said he was irritated by the "aggressiveness and unbelievable vulgarity" of the group. K231 prevented Lenka Pavlova, new head of the Office for the International and Legal Protection of Children, from entering the office in protest against her recent appointment. Necas, a father of four, apologised to some female politicians whom K213 verbally attacks on its websites on behalf of Czech decent men and fathers. Several men from K213 have been blocking the entrace of the office in Brno, south Moravia, since Monday. K213 has about 480 members.
They say Pavlova has gained the post of the office director in a non-transparent procedure. They demand an explanation from the ministry and a new competition for the post. K213 has also challenged Pavlova's past. Pavlova is a "feminist defence counsel of extremist feminist groups Profem and Koordona, which promote opinions that are totally incompatible with the citizens' equality idea," K213 says in a statement. K213 chairman Jiri Fiala said earlier this week the above mentioned organisations believe that fathers, after divorce, should only pay alimonies without being in contact with their children. K213 do not pay alimony in protest against court decisions concerning their children. Organisations dealing with the protection of children's rights and helping victims of domestic violence supported Pavlova as head of the office. Some also pointed out that some K213 members had been banned from seeing their children because of their violent behaviour. The Office for the International and Legal Protection of Children is in charge of exacting alimonies and supervising international adoptions of children, and acts as children's guardian in the cases of international abduction of children of mixed couples. In the past the office came under criticism for its inefficient work. The ministry said it expects Pavlova to improve the office's performance and reputation.
