Czech opposition might support reforms with its proposals - CSSD ... it, new candidates may be proposed, but members of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate can also propose the candidates from the first election. Klaus received 139 votes, which means that he was short of one vote to be elected. Three lawmakers were absent from the vote. Svejnar allegedly obtained 113 votes. Svejnar lacked the Communists' votes. The Communists (KSCM) said they wanted to come up with new candidates for the next election. They are choosing among five of them. The Civic Democratic Party (ODS) is expected to propose again Klaus, the Social Democrats (CSSD) want to continue with their support to Svejnar. The exact date of the new election has not been set, but members of the Chamber of Deputies and Senate have agreed to meet within ten days. The date of the joint session is to be set by Miloslav Vlcek, the Social Democrat chairman of the Chamber of Deputies who will chair it.
