"Dear Mr President, dear Vaclav, I congratulate you on the election for the second term and wish that your presidential work be easier than your election," Hladik quoted from Havel's letter.
Klaus was elected in the third round of the second presidential election today.
Klaus, nominated by the rightist Civic Democratic Party (ODS), defeated his rival Jan Svejnar, backed by Havel and center-left parties.
