Two fifths of Czechs believe the Czech Republic will play an active role in the EU and apply its stances in the EU's decision-making.
However, 60 percent of Czechs think the Czech Republic is not capable of playing an active role in the EU.
While the followers of the senior ruling Civic Democrats (ODS) and the junior government Greens (SZ) assess the EU's functioning most favourably, the opposition Communists (KSCM) are the most critical of it.
The trust in the democratic character of the EU and the opinions on the effectiveness of its decision-making have not fundamentally changed over the past two years.
The poll was conducted on 423 respondents over 18 between January
29 and February 7.
