Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg (for the Greens) said he would leave the government if Cunek returned to it. Schwarzenberg is of the view Cunek has not sufficiently explained his financial affairs. The Greens in general are against the return of Cunek to the three-party coalition cabinet. Cunek said he believed Schwarzenberg would not resign. "Schwarzenberg made a big mistake when commenting on an affair about which he did not know much.
Now he does not know how to get out of the quagmire," Cunek said. Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek said earlier today he would ask President Vaclav Klaus to reinstate Cunek in the government, maybe next week. Greens leader Martin Bursik said the Greens did not want to stay in the government at any cost. "What the Greens are saying, is only of marginal interest to me," Cunek said, adding that the Greens should respect the presumption of innocence and acknowledge that the police and the state attorney said he had not done anything bad. "I still believe that Schwarzenberg will not leave," Cunek said.
