1901: Just watched some images of the Arsenal and Liverpool players arriving at the Emirates Stadium. All I can say is that I hope the Gunners mascot washes his hands, if you get my drift.
1900: "There was one April Fool's Day prank - somebody told me they thought Cristiano Ronaldo was the best player in the world!"

Light the blue touch paper, retreat to a safe distance and enjoy, while I wade through page after page of 606 comments about the merits of the Portuguese one.
1852: "Away goals are always crucial and I believe if Liverpool nick one at the Emirates tonight it will go a long way towards qualifying for the semi finals."

Words of wisdom from the red and black. Not often that he is strictly an observer with little actual vested interest in what happens on the pitch at this stage of the season.
1850: We might know about Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea but our collective knowledge of Fenerbahce (how many times will I spell that incorrectly tonight?) might be a little on the light side. BBC Sport columnist Tim Vickery wrote an illuminating piece on their coach, Brazilian Zico, the other day that might be worth checking out.

1847: I know it was yesterday - and that in the modern e-world, that means it might as well have been a million years ago, but did anyone get stung by an April Fool's Day prank of a truly hilarious nature?
1845: "Come on you Arsenal! We are going to destroy Liverpool 3-0 and Adebayor will get a hat-trick!"

1840 BST: Evening all - and what a night of Champions League quarter-final action we have in store.
Three of the four teams are from the Premier League, which should guarantee that at least a few English players will be on display.
Man Utd, of course, already have one foot in the semi-finals after their 2-0 win in Roma on Wednesday - but at least one English club will fail to join them.
Arsenal, finalists in 2006, play Liverpool, winners in 2005 and finalists in 2007, at the Emirates Stadium in a tie of huge significance to both teams.
In Istanbul, Chelsea play Fenerbahce, with Avram Grant convinced he can take the Blues to places that the Special One could not.
Given that none of them have an FA Cup semi-final to worry about this weekend, I'm hoping they keep nothing in reserve.
