A handyman has been charged with the murder of 61-year-old British woman on an extended holiday in Jamaica.

Omar Reid, 30, is accused of killing Barbara Scott-Jones, whose body was found in a pit near her holiday home in the northwest of the Caribbean island.

Mr Reid, who was arrested on Thursday, is due to appear in court later in the week, police said.

Ms Scott-Jones, who was reported missing on 14 March, was described by her family as a "wonderful, selfless woman".
