Americas talks on border tensions ... Chavez has urged Colombia's leftist rebels to free all of the civilians they are holding hostage. Chavez says he disagrees with the stance taken by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia in holding civilian captives such as former presidential candidate Ingrid Betancourt.
French-Colombian hostage Betancourt is among 39 high-profile hostages who the FARC rebel group wants to exchange with the government for 500 of their jailed fellow guerrillas. The Venezuelan President said he would continue his mediation efforts to free hostages held by Colombian rebels.
