In western India at least 39 people, most of them schoolchildren, have died when a bus plunged into a canal.
At least four children were saved after the crash. Police in the state of Gujarat said the bus driver lost control over the vehicle near the city of Vadodara when it then broke through a guard rail before it crashed into the water.
