British Prime Minister Gordon Brown said that nobody believed that President Robert Mugabe had won the March 29 election and that it was time for the UN to take a stand. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon expressed deep concerns over the uncertainty created by the refusal of Zimbabwe's electoral commission to release the results of the presidential election. He said he planned to discuss the issue with a number of leaders on the sidelines of the Security Council meeting.
