UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon says he is "gravely concerned" about the latest escalation of violence in the Gaza Strip.
At least nineteen Palestinians and three Israeli soldiers were killed in Gaza on Wednesday in the worst day of violence in a month. One of the Palestinians killed was a cameraman working for Reuters News Agency, who died when his vehicle was hit by an Israeli rocket. An AFP news agency photographer who was driving behind the Reuters vehicle said it had been clearly labelled with TV and press stickers. The Israeli military said it was looking into the incident.
