The Olympic torch relay has concluded its run in India's capital, Delhi, with some scattered Tibetan protests occurring without major incident.
Authorities in the city mounted unprecedented security measures to prevent the kinds of protests that occurred earlier in other cities around the world. The brief relay of 2.6 kilometres in the heart of Delhi was guarded by 15,000 policemen and commandos, but few bystanders were actually present. This leg of the relay was particularly sensitive as India is home to the Dalai Lama and the world's largest community of Tibetan exiles.
