Egyptian President Hosny Mubarak and German Chancellor Angela Merkel have met in Berlin, where they discussed the political crisis in Lebanon.
Germany has been actively trying to secure a resolution to the Lebanese crisis and has been strongly critical of what it sees as Syria's "unconstructive" role. Merkel and Mubarak agreed that Lebanon should get on with electing a new president in order to solve the political deadlock.
