German police have conducted a series of raids on apartments and offices as part of an investigation into suspected Islamist extremist activities.
Police in the southern state of Bavaria said in a statement that the raids were conducted on 16 properties located all over the country, including in the cities of Bonn and Berlin. Dozens of documents have been seized. Police say nine individuals, mainly of foreign origin, are accused of trying to win over others to radical Islam, and encouraging them to support jihad activities at home and abroadj,.
