The United States has accused North Korea of helping Syria build a reactor that could be used for a weapons programme.
A White House spokeswoman said in a statement that North Korea had assisted Syria's covert nuclear activities, adding that the reactor was not intended for peaceful purposes. Damascus immediately rejected the allegations. US officials have suggested that UN inspectors should go to Syria to investigate.
