Deutsche Post and services union Verdi have reached an agreement on wages and working hours averting the threat of a strike.
Some 130,000 Deutsche Post workers are to get a one-time bonus of 200 euros and a pay raise of 4.0 percent on November 1. An additional wage increase of 3.0 percent is foreseen in December 2009. Deutsche Post management have also agreed to maintain workers' jobs until at least June 2011.
