Czech Social Democrats expel MP Snitily from party ... minister for the family and woman, pointed out that the legislation would not help solve the problem. She said the main part of the amendment, according to which courts would have power to ask banks, insurance companies and state bodies for data on alimony-defaulters was deleted from the bill. One of the three bill authors, senior ruling Civic Democrat (ODS) deputy David Kafka, did not object to the change, saying it is only a slight modification. Last year, the government coalition rejected the CSSD bill under which the state would cover alimony for some incomplete families. Labour and Social Affairs Minister Petr Necas (ODS) then argued that the government deputies had prepared a bill that would better solve problems with alimony collecting.
