German MPs ratify EU treaty ... absolute majority in Hamburg in elections last February and agreed to form a coalition with the Greens in April, following protracted negotiations. The Greens have traditionally entered parliament coalitions with the left-of-centre Social Democrats. The two parties have never partnered before at such a high level.
