Largest number of children since 1993 born in CzechRep last year ... NGOs and humanitarian organisations can operate in Burma due to the local political regime.
"Nevertheless, we believe that in view of the serious situation in the country, Burma will more open itself to aid in the days to come, which would enable us to opt for the most effective method of aid," ministry spokeswoman Zuzana Opletalova said.
She said the first part of the Czech aid has been used by the Red Cross International Committee to distribute water, medicines, and food.
Now it is to be decided how the rest of the Czech aid will be spent.
"It is important for us that we can oversee our aid really reaching the citizens of Burma in the afflicted areas," Opletalova said.
