His life is not endangered. The soldier will be transferred to the Czech Republic as soon as possible. The so far last rocket attack affecting Czech troops in Basra occurred in January, when two Czechs were wounded. Last Wednesday, a Czech soldier died in Afghanistan when his armoured vehicle ran on a mine. His four fellow passengers suffered wounds. A total of 99 Czech soldiers operate in Iraq at present. They guard the main entrance to the international military base in Basra. One Czech soldier died so far of injuries he suffered in Iraq. Along with another two Czechs, he was injured in a road accident in May 2003, some 150 km southeast of Baghdad. In 2005, four Czech soldiers were injured in a road accident in Kuwait.
