A bomb-blast in a cafй in Sri Lanka's eastern town of Ampara has killed at least 11 people and injured 29 others.
The government has blamed the explosion on Tamil Tiger rebels. The attack comes ahead of local elections in Sri Lanka's eastern province scheduled for this Saturday. They are the first polls in the region for 20 years. The government wrested control of the country's east from Tamil separatist rebels last July.
