He said the tender commission will start assessing the bids on May 15 and the winner could be known in late May or early June. The contract with the winner could be signed in mid-July, Kubalak said. The tender started on March 28, companies could submit their bids until April 25. The Czech police want to buy 2,800 to 3,500 new service cars worth 1.4 billion crowns in 2008-2011.
They want to invest an annual 350 million in the project. Of the new cars, 1,990 should feature the police colours, 900 should be civilian and the design of 700 is yet to be decided on. The police want to buy some 700 new cars this year alone. ($1=16.267 crowns)
