The last time the Czech reserve company operated in the Balkans was in March.
The soldiers then kept the peace after Kosovo declared independence. The unit also took action during Serbian protest demonstrations. The reserve unit is stationed in the Czech Republic. It is ready to start fufilling tasks within five days of activation. The Czech republic now has more than 400 soldiers in Kosovo. It sent the firsts reinforcements to Kosovo last November when general and local elections were held there. Kosovo declared independence of Serbia on February 17. The Czech Republic has not yet recognised its independence.
