It has afflicted more than 1.5 million people altogether. Czech humanitarian workers also help directly in Burma. People in Need has delivered food to the southern part of the country. "Several people died in villages visited by our local co-operators. The Burmese military government has not brought any help to these areas hit by the cyclone," Karel Vrana from People in Need told CTK. The organisation plans to deliver water cleaning tablets from Pakistan because unburied corpses and dead cattle threaten to poison local water sources. The ADRA Charity's international network has distributed food in Burma, too. ADRA sent two doctors to the region. International organisations criticise the approach of the Burmese government that does not welcome foreign aid. The situation after Nargis is bad. The survivors have not received sufficient aid and they are not able to bury their dead. ($1=16.166 crowns)
