The Roman-era fortress is famous for where a group of Jewish men, women, and children committed suicide rather than surrender to Roman forces. Bush is to later address the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the country. The president's visit was marred on Wednesday by violence from the Gaza Strip. At least 16 Israelis were injured when a rocket fired from northern Gaza hit a shopping mall in the Israeli coastal city of Ashkelon.
