15.05.2008 - Czech court rejects citizens' complaint against NATO radar
The radar has already been stationed on the site where the Three Three Emperors' Battle at Slavkov took place in 1805 and where thousands of soldiers are buried.
In its complaint the municipality said that its reservations about the stationing of the radar should be dealt with by a court and not by the construction office.

"It seems we have lost the case," municipality lawyer Jaroslav Broz said.
The NATO radar worth 500 million crowns that will monitor flights over Moravia was completed last December.
It is situated within the sight of the Peace Monument commemorating the Austerlitz battle's 20,000 victims.
The radar building is about 20 metres tall, with a cupola which is 18-metre in diameter.
Its opponents say the building will impair the landscape and "disgrace" the whole area which is a commemorative site.
Miroslav Jandera, president of the Austerlitz organisation that regularly stages events commemorating the famous battle in which Napoleon crushed the allied armies of the Austrian emperor and Russian tsar, said previously that his organisation was not against the radar but only wanted it to be placed a few kilometres farther.
