15.05.2008 - HIV spreading in Czech Republic, info campaign starts
The HIV/AIDS information campaign has been launched by Health Minister Tomas Julinek and Human Rights and Minorities Minister Dzamila Stehlikova.
Stehlikova said it is alarming that young people now get infected with the virus the most often, especially women aged 20-24 and men aged 25-29.
In 2007, 122 new HIV-positive people were registered, which has been the highest number in the Czech Republic since the start of the testing.
