The meeting is part of an agreement brokered by the Arab League on Thursday, that ended clashes between gunmen from the Shi'ite opposition group Hezbollah and supporters of the Western backed government. More than 60 people have been killed and dozens of others wounded in the worst fighting Lebanon has seen since the 1975-1990 civil war. The clashes were sparked by government moves aimed at curbing the power of Hezbollah. The government has since rescinded the two decisions. The political crisis began in late 2006 when six pro-Syrian ministers walked out of the cabinet. The country has been without a head of state since former President Emile Lahoud's term in office ended in November. The country's parliament has failed in 19 attempts to elect a successor.
