The international police agency, Interpol, has confirmed the authenticity of computer files seized by Colombia in a raid on a FARC rebel camp in Ecuador.
Columbian President Alvaro Uribe has charged that the files are evidence of Venezuelan support for the FARC rebels, while Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez initially said the files were fabricated. In the meantime, Venezuela and Ecuador say the computer records merely reflect contacts with rebels made in mediation efforts to free hostages.
