A group of 10 German aid agencies has called on Germans to increase donations to help the more than two million survivors of Cyclone Nargis in Burma.
Manuela Rossbach of Aktion Deutschland Hilft tried to allay concerns that aid might not be properly distributed. Rossbach said more than 1,000 local employees in Burma were working non-stop to provide medical and food aid in the affected areas.
