In Peru's capital Lima 50 leaders of Latin America and the European Union have begun a summit.
Debate is expected to focus on global warming, the fight against poverty and higher food prices. Ahead of the summit, leftist Bolivian President Evo Morales, who lobbies for impoverished coca growers, had differed with Peruvian and Colombian leaders over free-trade talks.
