Leaders of Lebanon's rival political factions are meeting in Qatar for talks aimed at resolving a dispute that has pushed Lebanon to the brink of a new civil war.
The meeting was brokered by the Arab League on Thursday to end clashes between gunmen from the Shi'ite radical group Hezbollah and supporters of the Western-backed government. More than 60 people have been killed and dozens of others wounded in the worst fighting Lebanon has seen since a 15-year civil war ended in 1990. Hezbollah is battling government efforts to limit its power in the country.
