The order banning several future rallies came after police briefly detained the MDC leader ahead of a rally in the second-largest city of Bulawayo. The MDC has so far been able to stage only a handful of rallies and Tsvangirai has twice been detained by police in the last three days. Tsvangirai's campaign to unseat President Robert Mugabe has been met with violence and widespread intimidation from government forces.
