Two bomb attacks on civilian buses in Sri Lanka have killed at least 23 civilians and wounded scores of passengers.
In the worst attack, a mine placed on the roadside ripped through a bus just south of Colombo, killing 21, mainly commuters. Hours later, a bomb went off inside a bus in the island nation's central district of Kandy, killing two people. Sri Lanka's military has blamed Tamil Tiger rebels for both attacks, the latest of a series in and around Colombo in recent weeks. The rebels in turn have accused government commandos of being behind two recent fatal bombings in Sri-Lanka's rebel controlled north.
