In the United States, Hillary Clinton has officially bowed out of the race for the White House.
Clinton used a campaign event in Washington to urge her supporters to rally behind her Democratic Party rival, Barack Obama. This follows a tight race for the Democratic nomination for the US presidential election. Until now, Clinton had refused to back down, even after Obama reached the necessary number of delegates to win the race following the final two primaries earlier this week.
