Rescue officials said the miners, several suffering burns and other injuries, were transferred to hospital by Monday evening. One miner was found dead. Twelve are still missing as rescuers race against rising flood waters to reach them. The blast occurred early Sunday at the Karl Marx mine in Yenakiyevo, 60 kilometres east of the regional capital Donetsk. It was the latest in a series of accidents that have blighted Ukraine's mining industry.
