Bush has been wrapping up his visit to Germany by holding a joint press conference with Chancellor Angela Merkel at the official guest residence near Berlin. The main topic of their discussions was ways of curbing Iran's controversial nuclear programme. Chancellor Merkel told reporters in Meseberg that Germany favoured imposing fresh sanctions on Tehran unless it complies with international demands for it to halt its uranium enrichment activities.
