Yahoo and Microsoft have failed to reach agreement on a possible merger or partnership.
Computer software giant Microsoft had sought a deal with Yahoo for more than a year and by early May had offered up to $47.5 billion to buy the Internet company. Shares in the Internet portal plunged ten percent. There is speculation of a partnership between Yahoo and its rival Google.
