At the European soccer championship: German players and management are licking their wounds a day after being upset 2-1 by Croatia in Klagenfurt.
Head coach Joachim Löw has told a press conference at the German team's base in the Swiss town of Tenero that he was confident that Germany would advance to the quarterfinals despite the setback. Germany needs only a draw against Austria in their last Group B game to do so. However they will be without midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger for Monday's match. He has been given a one-game suspension after being sent off in the dying seconds of the Croatia match.
