Taleban militants have attacked a prison in the southern Afghan city of Kandahar and have set a number of inmates free, reports say.
BBC sources suggest at least 100 may have fled from the main jail.
There have been a number of casualties among security forces, reports say.
A suicide car bomb and rockets were used in the attack, Associated Press news agency reports.
The jail is said to have housed both Taleban inmates and common criminals.
