Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi says that relations with Germany are back to normal, following a dispute over a meeting between the Dalai Lama and Chancellor Angela Merkel.
He was speaking during a joint press conference with visiting German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Beijing. This is the first trip to China by the German foreign minister since Chancellor Merkel met with the Tibetan spiritual leader in Berlin last autumn. China responded by cancelling a series of bilateral meetings.
