The Netherlands booked their place in the quarter-finals of Euro 2008 with a resounding 4-1 win over France in Berne.
The victory means Marco van Basten's side are guaranteed to finish top of Group C as they now have an unassailable six points from two matches. Earlier Italy were held to a 1-1 draw against Romania. Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon saved a penalty in the last phase of the match.
