He said the number of prisoners is expected to be slightly increasing in the next years. The ministry wanted to increase the portion of inmates working from the current 60 percent to 65 percent, Pospisil said. In August, the ministry plans to open a new private prison for some 460 inmates in Rapotice near Brno, south Moravia. In December, new rooms are to be opened in two other Czech prisons.
