The Czech Defence Ministry will simultaneously start negotiations on a contract with Steyr for the purchase of 107 Pandurs.
It will be signed only if the forthcoming independent tests' outcome is favourable, Bartak said. "We hope we will acquire the first vehicles by the end of the year," he said. An agreement on the launch of the tests was signed by the ministry officials and Steyr representatives today. The tests will take several weeks. Their result could be known at the end of August, Bartak said.
