Zimbabwe's opposition has vowed to press ahead with its campaign for next week's presidential run-off between its leader Morgan Tsvangirai and longtime President Robert Mugabe despite mounting violence.
A Movement for Democratic Change spokesman said the people of Zimbabwe have been subjected to violence and intimidation and are disappointed that the MDC is not having access to the electorate. Several African leaders have also expressed concern that the elections will not be free or fair. European Union leaders are set to issue a new threat of sanctions over the election violence.
