Police in Afghanistan's southern province of Helmand say a suicide bomber has killed six Afghan civilians while targeting a NATO patrol in a crowded bazaar.
US-led forces say one its soldiers and an Afghan interpreter were also killed, apparently in the same attack. There has been no immediate claim of responsibility. The attack comes a day after NATO and Afghan forces said they had "cleared" Taliban militants from villages outside the southern city of 10 killed in Helmand bombing ...

Afghanistan Tops Agenda on Day Two of NATO Summit ... Kandahar. The Afghan military said 56 militants had been killed. Kandahar was the scene of a mass jail break last Friday during a Taliban raid. Two US-led coalition soldiers have also been killed in Helmand province, according to a statement issued from the US airbase at Bagram near Kabul. It did not reveal the nationalities or identities, saying only they had died of gunshot wounds while on patrol. Helmand is one of the areas worst-hit by a growing Taliban insurgency. It's also Afghanistan's main opium producing region.
