An Iranian Sunni Muslim rebel group says it has executed two of 16 Iranian police officers seized a week ago.
A spokesman for the Jundallah, or Soldiers of God, told Al-Arabiya television that the men were executed because the Shiite Iranian government had executed two members of the rebel group the day before. The spokesman added that the rebels would kill the remaining 14 policemen unless the Iranian government released 200 members of the group from detention by next Friday.
