The Olympic torch relay has completed one of its most sensitive legs without incident.
The flame was carried along an 11-kilometre-long route through Tibet's capital, Lhasa. This comes three months after the biggest anti-China protests in decades led to deadly clashes between demonstrators and police. Security was tight as the torch was paraded past a crowd that had been carefully selected by the authorities. The relay was marked by anti-China protests during the stages in Britain, France and the United States. The torch is scheduled to arrive in Beijing in time for the opening ceremonies of the summer Olympic Games on August 8.
