21.06.2008 - Bosnian war suspect sent to The Hague

Serbian media say Serb authorities have flown an ex-Bosnian Serb police chief to the UN war crimes tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in the The Hague.

Stojan Zupljanin faces charges of allegedly overseeing Serb-run prison camps where Muslims and Croats were killed during the war in Bosnia between 1992 and 1995. Zupljanin, who was arrested last week near Belgrade after being on the run for nine years, was a former aide to Radovan Karadzic. The Bosnian Serb wartime leader remains at large along with former military chief Ratko Mladic. On Friday a Belgrade court rejected an appeal against extradiction lodged by Zupljanin who becomes the 43 Serb Kosovo adopts new constitution ...
